Ada Christine Fairchild was born April 3, 1930 and departed this life Friday, August 20, 2010 reaching the age of 80. She was the daughter of the late George Marvin and Dovie (Abbott) Barnett.

She is survived by: 1 son, Marty (Joy) Fairchild of Monticello, KY; 4 daughters, Carla (Audrey) Clouse of Georgetown, KY, Terrie (Gary) Kendall of Monticello, KY, Sheila (Jerry) Gingrich of Auburndale, FL, and Genia (Mark) Cole of Fredericksburg, VA; 9 grandchildren, Wendi, Kimberly, Amber, Mark, Samuel, Jesse, Heather, Jeremy, and Joshua; and 2 great grandchildren, Dustin and Jordan. She is also survived by: 3 sisters, Audrey Greene of Somerset, KY, Anna Garner of Richmond, KY, and Anetta Sublett of Fairborn, OH; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, George and Dovie Barnett, she was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Avery and Arlie Barnett; 1 sister, Alta Davenport; and 1 grandchild, Shannon.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11 am at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Richardson and Bro. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
